The San Jose After School Program has become a second home to many of our children. The staff has become their role model, teacher, joke-teller, family care provider, nurse, friend, and sense of familiarity. The program consists but not limited to academics, recreation, cultural and environmental awareness, and social enrichment. With an enrollment of one hundred students, the children have a chance to interact with students of different cultures, ages, and personalities. We have developed different clubs to enhance the program such as Art Club, Computer Club, Culture Club, Dance Club and the Literacy Box. We also have structured sports tournaments for basketball, hockey, and flag football. Our responsibility is to teach them so they can have opportunities for a better future and pave their own road.

Slonaker Academy has had a great year. With Many new youth enrolled this year we have made many new improvements to better the services we offer to the youth. This year we have enjoyed Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, Cinco De Mayo, and our End of the Year Parties. We have offered Art, Folklorico, organized recreation, Salsa, and Drum Workshops to name a few of the workshopsto enrich our youths' experience. We have learned to ally ourselves with the faculty to better the experience and learning at Slonaker. We look forward to next year with all it's possibilities as we mold the future.

Our most recent summer program provide music classes, where participants learned how to read music and play the flute.  Over 50 students participated in the three-month program.
