"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

In this important program, we help students develop goals
like improving attendance and getting better grades.
The primary goal of the CCSC-TABS Truancy Intervention Project is to reduce the truancy rate in our community through providing case management services to youth who habitually cut school and who are at risk of dropping out of school. The target youth of this program are all truants between the ages of 13 to 18 who are referred to CCSC by East Side TABS Center (SJPD). The CCSC Case manager works with an intervention plan to help each truant youth improve his/her school attendance, academic achievement and related behavior problems.
We also strive to help at-risk elementary and middle school truant students develop a positive attitude towards school, with services that include client-centered counseling, family/home visits, school visits, and other support services.

We believe that keeping our youth in school is vital to their future success!
